45 was liberated, along with101 and 14/2, from a Grand Geckin destroyer, saving him from certain death as a "midnight snack" for the head lizard. He was named in recognition for his love of music in general, and of Alpha's CDs in particular, which spin at 45 RPM.
45 has a demonstrative sense of individuality and healthy skepticism for authority and convention. He often travels through time and space to participate in political rallies, protests and civil rights events -- he always seems to be off fighting for some cause.
