Mar's background remains largely a mystery -- one that she guards ferociously. All that's known for certain is that she's been working with The Guardians for several centuries, and has been at odds with the Grand Geckins, and several dozen other species, for at least as long.
Despite her unsophisticated, often crude style, Mar remains one of the smartest, savviest creatures ever likely to be encountered. And while rumors persist that she may actually be of aristocratic lineage, no records exist to confirm or refute such claims.
* As Mar has spent much of her life traveling the universe at velocities close to the speed of light, accurate linear measure of "age" is impossible.
